Rare Marcel Boucher Jeweled Brooch Maltese Cross, 1950s-60s Signed
From one of the most famous and highly collectible designers of costume jewelry, Marcel Boucher, this beautiful jeweled maltese cross combines faceted blue rhinestones, cabochon faux "emeralds", and a faceted faux "sapphire" cabochon at center. The colors in this piece are just stunning, and really the stones look quite real. All of the open back unfoiled stones are prong set in the gold plated setting. The back of the pin is marked Boucher with the catalog number 3482, and dates from the 1950s to 60s, and features a ring so that the brooch could be strung as a pendant on a necklace.
Born in Paris, Marcel Boucher worked as a jewelry designer for Cartier and created costume jewelry from the 1930s until the early 60s. A beautiful statement piece by Marcel Boucher from the 1950s, this brooch is a wonderful addition to your vintage jewelry collection.
