Rare Vintage 1960s Oscar de la Renta Red Swiss Dot Dress
Rare Vintage 1960s Oscar de la Renta Red Swiss Dot Dress
This is a rare vintage Oscar de la Renta dress dating to the late 1960s. As one of Oscar de la Renta's very first designs under his own label (he bought the Jane Derby company in 1969), this wearable vintage dress is highly collectible. A frilly scalloped collar with red embroidered egdes adorns the round neckline, while a scalloped hem adorns the bottom. Red embroidered swiss dots completely cover the dress which is made of a sheer white organza fabric. Fully lined with a cream crepe fabric, this dress also comes with its original matching scalloped tie belt, which adds a nice punch to the waist.
Size: XS
Measurements:
Bust: 32"-34"
Waist: 25-26"
Hips: 43"
Length: 52"
Condition: Very good vintage condition. The dress presents beautifully showing no stains or major issues however there are some minor wear issues. The zipper is a bit sticky at the center waist (it zips all the way up but I recommend to be careful to avoid breaking it). There are some areas of the organza wearing thin (see last photo). These small wear areas are not visible to the naked eye- only upon closer inspection do you notice them. They are blended in to the fabric and hidden because of the thick matching lining. Overall this dress is in very good condition and is clean, ready to wear.
