Gold commemorative coins made in Mexico, dated 1906 and 1920, are the primary feature of these exquisite antique gold earrings. Topped with a late Victorian sterling and 14kt gold hook finding, these lovely earrings feature a row of dangling 10kt cascabels hanging from a bar of faux seed pearls.
In excellent condition, the earrings feature ear-wire hooks that hold securely in the back. Beautifully made, these lovely earrings must have been made during the 1940s/50s and look very similar to the earrings that Frida Kahlo would wear.
History:
The coin highlights Mexico's Coat of Arms, with the portrayed Eagle crushing a snake in its beak. The front of the coin features the effigy of Miguel Hidalgo, who has been revered as the "Father of the Nation" as he led Mexico's greatest revolution.

Genuine Mexican Gold Cinco Peso coins in excellent condition. Some of the faux pearls show patina where the shiny layer has rubbed off although not too visible.
