About The Designer/Label:
Florence Nightingale Graham (December 31, 1881 – October 18, 1966), who went by the business name Elizabeth Arden, was a Canadian-American businesswoman who founded what is now Elizabeth Arden, Inc., and built a cosmetics empire in the United States. What most people don’t know is that she also sold a line of ready-to-wear fashion exclusively in her boutiques. She partnered with established designers to create the Elizabeth Arden clothing line. Some of the more notable designers that designed for Elizabeth Arden were Oscar de La Renta, Chloe, and Antonio Castillo of house Lanvin.
She was the sole owner, and at the peak of her career, she was one of the wealthiest women in the world. In the 1960s-70s, her boutiques gave women a unique luxurious retail shopping experience complete with cosmetics, salon services, perfumes and of course, clothes.
