Very rare 1940s hand printed Mexican circle skirt featuring the ancient folk Milagros symbols. Milagros are religious folk charms that are traditionally used for healing purposes and as votive offerings in Mexico, the southern United States, other areas of Latin America, and parts of the Iberian peninsula. They are frequently attached to altars, shrines, and sacred objects found in places of worship.

Made of a dark brown printed cotton, this full skirt has a closure in the back and a tie that can be worn in the front or back. It is hand printed in Mexico and is just stunning! Wear over a crinoline for extra fullness.

Size: Small

Measurements:
Waist: 28"
Hips: Free
Length: 32"

Condition: Good vintage condition with some visible wear. There are two areas of sun fading on the skirt (see close-up) as well as one are that looks like an age stain. Luckily the color is very light and the spots are hidden in the pleats, so it really isn't very noticeable. There are a few nicks in the dark brown fabric where some of the print has worn off, but there are no holes or structural issues. The condition is reflected in the  price. Overall, this skirt is still very wearable for its age and is a beautiful example of antique Mexican textiles!
