1920s Tie Dye Antique Chinese Silk Shawl
1920s Tie Dye Antique Chinese Silk Shawl
This is a beautiful Chinese silk shawl dating from the 1920s. It is made of silk charmeuse and was tie-dyed by a local Berkeley artist. Featuring wonderfully blended colors of reds, oranges, greens, and burnt orange - this shawl has a mysterious yet grounding effect when worn. The silk is supple and silky to the touch; combined with the colors it was dyed it creates a beautiful sheen. Long ombre fringe and hand knotting add weight and depth to this already spectacular piece!
