With one week left as The Vintage Net in Berkeley, I reflect on all the moments that led me to where I am today.
It’s amazing to think that just 4 years ago, I was slinging vintage at my first flea market at the Antiques Fair (see photo below). Back then, I never thought I would become an owner of a clothing boutique. I just thought it was cool that I didn’t have to work at a 9 to 5 job - and that I could do my own thing - supporting myself by selling vintage.
(Summer 2015: Me standing in my booth of vintage with my hand painted sign. I was so DIY that I used stencils bought from Michaels!)
I never thought I would be where I am now!
I will always think fondly of my sweet little shop at 2918 Domingo which I opened in Berkeley March of 2017. This is where I truly learned how to operate a small business and made so many of the contacts and customers I have now.
Countless trial and error has led me to feel confident in my next project - my new store, Muse. After listening to my customers, and to my gut feeling - I am confident that this change is going to be GOOD!
I hope you will all continue to support me in my new store - Muse in Oakland! I love the energy of Oakland (I’ve lived here for 10 years) - the fashion, the style, the diversity, and most of all, the feeling of something new.
